Proud “parents” Graham and Rozzie Chapman are delighted
to announce the birth of baby “Atherfield Jonathan” – latest
addition to the Chapman (alpaca) family! Jonathan was born
7:40am on 10th December 2004. Here he is - just 4 hours
old and perky as anything – isn’t he a little cutie? There

NEWS FROM THE BOARD
Some of the topics discussed at recent Board meetings were:
President to attend Union of Progressive Judaism (UPJ) Conference and Executive Council
of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) Annual General Meeting in Sydney.
Heating has been provided upstairs in the ladies gallery
"A Few From Afar" to be reprinted next year and will include some revisions and a
dedication to Ann and Peter Elias
New members - Norm and Patsy Zadik and Nigel Elias [no relation to Ann & Peter …..]
Three supermarket bags of non-perishable food, donated by those attending shul, were
given to the City Mission by Bill Stuart
Study group being jointly organised by Tony O’Brien and Will Howard commenced in
October and sessions will be held on the third Tuesday of each month
A successful NCJW fund raising event was held at the Zadik's home in October, raising $200
for cancer research.
Three Israeli films will be screened at the State cinema in January 2005
Investigate modifying the lower section of the back window of the shul so that it will swing
open (rather than needing to be smashed) in the event it is to be used as an emergency exit.
NCJW/JNF NEW TREE CERTIFICATES
We now have tree certificates for many occasions. If you have a birth in the family or friends there is
a special one for that occasion. Also for Bar & Bat-Mitzvah and Yahrzeit occasions. If you require a
tree certificate for any occasion please ring Caroline Heard -
6239 1590 and she will be able to
advise you of what is available.
