Netzer Winter Camp 2004 – Aviva’s Report
On Sunday the 4th of July, 2004 I went to Melbourne to take part in the Federal
Winter Netzer Camp.   Netzer had a birthday this year, it turned 25.   This winter
camp will be remembered as one of the most exciting in Netzer’s history.   There
were around 175 participants from Adelaide, Perth, Tasmania, Sydney and
Melbourne, from all ages.   The name of the camp was Machaneh Mushlam which
means the perfect camp.   The camp was really fun, a couple of the activities
Magnorah (the name of my group) did were high ropes course, and we also talked
about how we changed our bodies to suit our religion and ourselves.   We sang
songs at mealtimes and after some mealtimes Magnorah did toronot.   We had a
Kabbalat Shabbat service and for Shabbat breakfast we had chocolate milk and
chocolate cake.   After that we had a Shabbat morning service and they had a
representative from each state going up to the Torah, as I was the only person
from Tasmania that meant that I had this honour.   On Saturday night we had a
skit-night, this was hilarious and went until 2.00am.   On Sunday morning at
5.00am, we had to be up to say our farewells to the Sydney people.   I left Licola
(where the camp had been) at 8.00am to get back to Melbourne to catch my flight
home.   I would like to thank Yonathan for coming so early to collect me from
Melbourne airport, and a huge thank you to Netzer for making it possible for me to
attend this camp.
