Hebrew for the Children of the Community
Are there any children out there who would like to learn some Hebrew?  The monthly sessions would
involve games, songs and learning the Hebrew alphabet.  If interested, please ring Michal on 0428
373515, or 62 279396, or email michal_golebowicz@hotmail.com.
Our Seder Night
This year’s Seder again went off without a hitch as we had the pleasure of having the formidable figure of
Rabbi John Levi to lead the event.
However - there is a lot of work that takes place behind the scene before you get
“The Seder Night”
First we have to fix the date, then find a venue and then we have to find a leader.
Then we have to inspect the venue to see if it will suit the occasion.
We then prepare the documents to send to the members, i.e. order and invitation/acceptance
forms.
Process all the returned forms and keep records.
Advise accepting participants what food to bring.
Order the wine, matzo, matzo meal, gefilte fish etc from Melbourne.
Engage a carrier.
Organise food from Hobart eg BBQ. chickens
Organise the hiring of eating utensils eg dinner plates, soup bowls, and wine glasses.
Organise helpers to set up tables.
Get all the required food, utensils, wine, and soft drink to the venue.
Set up tables.
Get all food ready and coordinate all food brought by members.
Have the food ready to serve at the appropriate time.
Receive assistance from members to serve the food.
Clean up the tables.
Organise the washing of the utensils.
Clean up the venue.
Remove all utensils, rubbish, etc.
Secure the venue and return the keys
Return all hired utensils.
So as you can see the night doesn’t just happen, there is a lot of work that is done behind the scene.
Then for the following week you put your feet up and rest.

At the moment this is the best information available on the costing.   If you are interested in attending
please contact Susan Steenbergen, Patsy Zadik or Debbie Brown, rather than the national organisation.
