Transcription
MINUTES of Annual General Meeting of Hobart Hebrew Congregation held at the Board Room of the Synagogue, Argyle Street, on 20th October, 1947 at 8 p.m.

PRESENT
Most members of the outgoing committee, including Mr. V.A. Coronel and Mr. Hans Jacob.  Also present were a large number of members.  Mrs. Fixel had sent an apology for being absent.

MINUTES
The Minutes of the last Annual meeting were read and confirmed.

Business
Correspondence: A letter from the Vienna Library was read and discussed.  Mr. Warse reported on the meeting of the Australian Jewish Welfare Societies.   A federal body of Jewish Welfare Societies is to be formed.  The meeting di not appoint any particular delegates to this body.  It was noted that the financial position will be attended to by branches of New South Wales and Victoria.  Mr. Eric Jacob moved, and Mr. Frank seconded, that this report be noted by the Congregation.  

FINANCIAL REPORT

The Treasurer, Mr. Hans Jacob, presented the Balance Sheet and statements of Income and Expenditure, as attached herewith.  It was moved by Mr. Chase, and seconded by Mr. Seidel, that the Balance Sheet be approved.  The President's report was read by Mr. Coronel, moved by Mr. Frank and seconded by Mr. Epstein - same to be noted.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

President: Mr. V.A. Coronel
Vice-President: Mr. F. Koenigstein
Treasurer: Mr. L. Hayes
Committee Members: Mr. F. Fixel, Mr. F. Newman, Mr. G. Benjamin, Mr. C. Epstein

MEMBERSHIP FEE
It was decided that the Membership Fee remain at £5.5.0 per family, and in deserving cases £2.2.0

RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTIONS
Mrs. Abrams wanted to know what will happen about Religious instructions for children after Mr. Warse had left.  The matter was left in the hands of the committee.

DONATION
Mr. Hans Jacob mentioned that a donation was made to the Victorian Jewish Welfare Societies of £250 under certain conditions.  If the Welfare Society should be formed in Tasmania, the money should be claimed.
