At a General Meeting of the Jews held at the house of Mr Friedman on Monday Evening 1 May 1843
Mr Louis Nathan President in the Chair
It was Resolved by Mr David Moses and seconded by Mr Heckscher that the list of subscriptions be advertised in the Public Newspapers and that Voluntary Subscriptions be Received by the President and Treasurer.
Carried by a majority of three
It was further Proposed by Mr P Moss and Seconded by Mr Judah Solomon that an official Letter be Prepared and be Presented by the President to His Excellency the Lieut Governor Soliciting aid from the Government funds.

It was further Proposed by Mr P Moss and seconded by Mr Judah Solomon that Mr David Heckscher David Moses and Mr Isaac Solomon be apointed Trustees for the Synagogue.

It was further Proposed by Mr David Heckscher and seconded by Mr David Moses that Each Member be Called upon to pay the amount of his or her subscription by a Promissory note at three months after date Payable to the name of the Treasurer
The present meeting was then adjourned until this night fortnight, the meeting was adjourned accordingly
