Committee Meeting Thursday July 16th 1846 The President in the Chair
Present
all the Members of the Committee.


It having been reported that a person named Barnard Walford, resident in Murray Street, a son of Mr. Barnard Walford (deceased), a Jew being dangerously sick and in bed, had stated that he himself was a Jew in belief and wished to die as such and that he had expressed his desire after Death to be interred in the burial ground of the Congregation. The said Barnard Walford of Murray Street, having been born of a Christian woman, and never having been a recognized Member of the Congregation,

It was unanimously resolved that in case of the decease of the said Barnard Walford it would be contrary to the Laws of the Congregation and to the rules and customs of the Jews to allow of such internment in the Jewish Burial Ground.
