General Meeting Sunday 21st December 5624=1863
The President in the Chair.

The President read a letter containing the resignation of Mr Jones as Reader etc. which was accepted by the meeting.

A report of the Committee was brought up intimating that the necessary steps had been taken to procure another Reader from Melbourne. After some desultory observations about the finances of the Congregation the meeting was adjourned pending the answer expected from Melbourne.

Mr B Vallentine moved and Mr Lazs Levy seconded by the Committee to be given to Mr Jones of 50£ on his departure from the Colony be not confirmed by this meeting.

Mr Mark Nathan proposed as an amendment and Mr Saml Levy seconded, that the gratuity referred to be deferred for the present and the amendment was carried.
