General Meeting Sunday the 10th January 5624=1864The President in the Chair.
Present Messrs Marks, Lazs Levy, Isrl Hyams, Mark Nathan, B Vallentine, John Harris, Saml Levy, Leo Susman.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Letter from Mr Goldreich addressed to Mr Hoswitz was read intimating that he /Mr G/ could not accept the situation offered him of Reader for less than 150£ irrespective of teaching.
Proposed Mark Nathan and seconded by Mr Abm Marks that the President be empowered to engage Mr Goldreich at 150£ a year if he was capable of performing all the duties required of him for one twelve months. Carried unanimously.
Proposed by Mr B Vallentine and seconded by Mr Leo Susman that Mr Joseph Solomon be visited upon by a Deputation of the Congregation consisting of the President, Treasurer and Mr Susman, concerning a small strip of land belonging to the ground of Temple House to the right of the Synagogue, to make a path to the back premises.
Carried.
