President in the Chair.
Present Messrs Solomon, Rheuben, Phillips, I Hyams, L Hyams and L Levy.
Minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed.

The President brought under the notice of the meeting the approaching departure of the Revd Mr Stone and that not withstanding several advertisements which had been inserted in the Sydney and Melbourne papers, announcing that we were in want of a Reader, no application had been received from either place.

A further discussion than took place, after which Mr Solomon proposed and Mr Susman seconded that the Revd Mr Pulver be engaged for 12 months at a salary of £100. An amendment was proposed and seconded that a General Meeting of Members be called for some evening this week for the purpose of considering this very important matter of engaging Mr Pulver and that the purpose for which such meeting was called be inserted in the summonses to all the members. Amendment was carried and the original motion was declared lost.
