General Meeting on Sunday the 4th February 1872 in Synagogue Chambers
President in the chair
Present Messrs A Rheuben, L Levy, Jos Solomon, Lewis & Hon Secy

Minutes of the two last meetings were read and confirmed. Secretary read 11 different letters which had been received at various times with the answers attached thereto, which were all approved of. President then introduce the business for which the meeting was called, namely the approaching expiration of Mr Pulver's engagement as reader together with his (Mr T's) letter of resignation and what steps it would be best to take to supply the vacancy. After a long and desultory discussion it was resolved that an advertisement be sent to Melbourne & Sydney that a Reader & Schouchet is wanted for this Congregation. Salary to be £100 per annum.
