Synagogue Chambers Hobart Hebrew Congregation Sunday May 14th 1911Present
N Edwards, N Levi, L Cohen, B Harris, G Benjamin, S Lewis, J Glasser, M Epstein, & M Benjamin.
At a special general meeting held in the vestry room on the above date.
Business: To consider the President’s resignation Mr J Levy in the chair.
Mr N Edwards asked the chairman if he was qualified to vote.
On a proposition of Mr M Epstein seconded by Mr J Glasser, that any Jewish resident paying 2/6 shall have power to vote – carried.
Mr Edwards, L Cohen, S Lewis & G Benjamin became members.
Moved by Mr Benjamin, seconded by Mr N Levi that the President be requested to reconsider his resignation, & that he is respectfully requested to call a meeting for the purpose of electing a committee and drafting bye laws, & that he be notified to that effect – carried unanimously. Proposed by Mr N Edwards, seconded by Mr J Glasser that this meeting recognise the valuable services rendered by the President to this congregation and
cordially tender him a vote of thanks – carried.
A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
