Committee Meeting of the Hobart Hebrew Cong held at 134 Elizabeth St., Hobart on March 15th, 1921Present
Mr B. Harris (chair), I. Glasser (Vice), Mr I. Levy and the Hon Sec N. Edwards
The Hon Sec read a letter received and read a letter dated March 1st, 1921 in which the Rev gentleman tendered his resignation as minister to the H.H.C. having received an offer from the Newcastle (NSW) congregation and asked for permission to dispense with the 6 months’ notice agreed upon at time of engagement. Proposed by J. Levy and seconded by N. Edwards and carried unanimously. That the secretary be instructed to write to the Rev Morris accepting his resignation with regret and naming the 12th day of May, 1921, as terminating his agreement, but to intimate that if the Newcastle congregation required his services at an earlier date that no objection would be made to him taking his departure sooner.
It was reported by the Hon Sec that satisfactory arrangements had been made re the applications of Messrs Lewis, Zimmer and Goldstone and that the fee had been arranged in each case at 25 pounds with a present of 5 pounds in each of the two cases and half fee in the case of Mr Zimmer.
Read and confirmed at the Committee Meeting held on April 25th, 1921.
