A Special General Meeting of the Hobart Hebrew Congregation held at the Synagogue Chambers, Argyle Street on Sunday March 20th 1932.

Present Messrs H. Glover, President, D. Mendes, Vice-President, S. Glasser, Treasurer, M. Davis, Trustee, B. Rubenstein, I. Morris, P. M. Raphael, D. H. Raphael, M. Caro, G. Labranski, Taylor Pulter & hon. Sec. G. Benjamin.

Correspondence from
Mr. H. Glover, President, resigning from the position of President & Trustee of the Hobart Hebrew Congregation and Trustee of the Philanthropic Society on account of his leaving the State.

From Rev. I. A. Bernstein offering his services as Jewish Minister at Hobart.

From Arthur Cummings, J. M. Curtis, Sniders Matzo Company.

From B. Rubenstein.

Proposed by Mr. M. Davis, seconded by Mr. P/ Raphael that the correspondence be received.
Carried.

Re Rev. Bernstein
Proposed by G. Benjamin, seconded by Mr. Caro that the application be accepted after much discussion, the voting being equal 4-4 and on the chairman’s casting vote being against, the chairman declared the motion lost. Those voting for the motion, Messrs G. Benjamin, M. Davis, M. Caro, J. Morris; against, S. Glasser, D. Mendes, P. Raphael, B. Rubenstein.

Re Resignation of Mr. H. Glover
Proposed by Mr. S. Glasser, seconded by Mr. P. Raphael that the resignation be received with regret.
Carried.

Re B. Rubenstein
Proposed by Mr. G. Labranski, seconded by Mr. S. Glasser that the application be referred to the committee.
Carried.

Election of President
Proposed by Mr. G. Labranski, seconded by Mr. S. Glasser that Mr. A. G. Benjamin be elected until the Annual meeting to be held in May 1932.
Carried.

Election of Trustee for Hobart Hebrew Congregation
Proposed by Mr. S. Glasser, seconded by Mr. I. Morris that Mr. G. Benjamin be elected trustee until the Annual meeting in May.
Carried.

Election of Trustee for Philanthropic Society
Proposed by Mr. S. Glasser, seconded by Mr. I. Morris that Mr. G. Benjamin be elected trustee of Philanthropic Society.
Carried.

Address of welcome
Proposed by Mr. B. Rubenstein, seconded by Mr. P. Raphael that the action of the President and Secretary in procuring address of welcome and presenting same to his Excellency Sir Alfred Isaac be endorsed.
Carried.

The chairman declared the meeting closed.
