The Minutes of a General Meeting held at the Synagogue Chambers Argyle Street on Sept 24, 1933.Present
A G Benjamin President, M Susman, D Mendes, H Epstein, M Davis, Mr Raphael, B Rubenstein, G Benjamin, R Benjamin, S Glasser
Moved by R Benjamin, seconded by S Glasser that M Susman take the chair while the President speaks. Carried
Moved by S Glasser, seconded by M Susman that the Law and Haphtorah and most of the service be read in English, similar to the New Year’s Service. Not carried
Amendment that the shul be opened at 8 o’clock for private prayer and at 10.45 till 12 be similar to New Year’s Service and private prayers again till 5 o’clock when the Concluding Service will be read till 6 o’clock. Carried amendment becomes the motion. Carried
Moved by R Benjamin, seconded by H Epstein that the Law be not read in English. Carried
Moved by H Epstein, seconded by M Davis that the services of the Late L M Caro as Vice President be placed on record.
Seats of Messrs. C Epstein and M Caro. Carried
Moved by G Benjamin, seconded by M Susman that the seats be declared vacant. Carried
Moved by M Davis, seconded by H Epstein that Mr R Benjamin be elected on the the Committee. Carried
Moved by G Benjamin, seconded by M Susman that Mr H Epstein be elected on the Committee. Carried
Moved by Mr M Davis, seconded by H Esptein that Mr R Benjamin be elected Vice President. Carried
Moved by S Glasser, seconded by G Benjamin that Mr M Susman be elected Treasurer. Carried
Moved by B Rubenstein, seconded by D Mendes that the Account be paid by the Shul for £10-18-6 being the funeral expenses of the late Mr Caro. Carried
Moved by S Glasser, seconded by D Mendes that the sum of £500 be reinvested in the E.S.A. Bank for 12 months and the interest be paid to the current a/c. Carried
