The Minutes of a Committee Meeting held in the Synagogue Chambers on the 7 May 1940.Present: R. Benjamin H. Epstein C. Epstein J. Edwards V. Coronel S Glasser
Moved. J Edwards. Sec V coronel that credentials be sent back also a letter re advertisement for a minister, which is left in abeyance for the present time.
Moved Epstein sec by J Edwards that the letter re Chief Rabbi’s Religious Emergency Council for German and Austrian Jewry be received and to write and tell them we are a very small Congregation and not in the position to help.
Moved V Coronel. Sec C Epstein that Mr. Emanueil letter be received and cannot do anything in the matter.
Moved H. Epstein sec C. Epstein that Mr. M Creary be wrote to in reference to the graves.
Moved. J Edwards sec S. Glasser that we get in touch with Rev Bernstein to see if he is preferred to accept the position as Minister of the Hobart Hebrew Congregation for 12 months or longer at a rate not to exceed £5 a week. Vote taken for H Epstein C. Epstein J Edwards S Glassen. Against R Benjamin V. Coronel.
Moved that Mr. Berkoff be granted £3.3.0 for reading as a honorarium

Moved that 15/- be paid for a wreath for Anzac Day.
