Minutes of Meetings held on 4 Feb, 30 March, 10 April, 7 May were confirmed as read.

Moved S. Glasser Sec J Edwards that Mr Berkoff be granted £10.10.0 for reading for the coming holiday and of it £5.5.0 to be paid in advance.

Moved C. Epstein Sec J. Edwards that Electric lights etc be inspected and if any repairs want doing to be left in Secretary’s hands.

The action of the Treasurer in paying the whole months wages to the retiring cleaner was endorsed.

Moved C Epstein Sec H Epstein that Mrs Pearce be appointed cleaner for the Synagogue at same wages as previous cleaner.

Moved S Glasser Sec C Epstein that the letter from The General Jewish Hospital Jerusalem be received and our liabilities are such that we cannot assist.

That the action be endorsed re the Secretary answering the letter from the Jewish Historical Society.

Moved A G Benjamin Sec S Glasser that on account of correspondence received that the matter of the appointment of Rev Bernstein to this Congregation be dropped.

Moved A G Benjamin Sec Glasser for the duration of the war and 12 months afterwards no person other than a natural born or naturalized British subjects shall be allowed membership of the Hobart Hebrew Congregation.

Treasurer reported that the fixed deposit in the E. S. A. had lapsed and that £350 was placed in Hobart Savings Bank. £200 War Savings Certificates, £200 Commonwealth Savings Bank all at call.

Moved S. Glasser Sec H. Epstein that £10.10.0 be given to the Spitfire fund.

Moved S. Glasser Sec H. Epstein that £10.10.0 be given to the Mayor’s Bombing Relief Fund in London.
