A Committee Meeting was held at the H. Synagogue on Sat. Sept 18Th 1943

Present
V. Coronel – R. Glasser – G. Benjamin – H. Jacob.

The resignation of the President R. Benjamin was discussed and the Secretary was instructed to write & ask Mr Benjamin if he would accept the position of Hon. President, moved by V. Coronel seconded by R. Glasser.

Balance Sheet
The 1943 Balance Sheet was discussed regarding prospects for financial arrangements for the 12 months term of office offered to Rev Ansbacher. The financial position is very sound and with a small change of investments, an income of £150 per annum could be expected. The further £250 needed to pay expenses & salary could be drawn from the community. Mr. Jacob moved that a meeting be arranged for Tuesday 28th September for all the Jewish persons interested in finalizing arrangements in support of the Rev Ansbacher. Also nominations for the position of Officers – 1 President & 4 representation. Seconded R. Glasser

Motion of 16th Sept 1940 rescinded
Moved by V. Coronel Seconded by G. Benjamin that the motion moved by A. G. Benjamin seconded by S. Glasser of 15th Sept 1940 reading “for the duration of the war & 12 months afterwards no person other than a natural born or nationalized British Subject shall be allowed membership of the Hobart Hebrew Congregation” to be rescinded & the following motion to be carried out: - All persons professing to be Jews may apply for membership to
the Hobart Hebrew Congregation and that the Board of Management shall consist of the President and 4 representatives of which the President and 2 representatives shall be British Subjects.
