1) Minutes of meeting held on Dec 6th were read and confirmed
Propose by Mr S Pollock
Seconded by Mr E. Frank

Yearly A/c Upkeep Cemetery
2) An account by the Trustees Hobart Public Cemetery over £5 for the upkeep of the Jewish
Section of Cemetery until 31st Dec. 1943 was submitted. Settlement was moved by Mr S
Pollock Seconded by Mr E.Frank
Carried

Purchase of curbed graves
3) A letter by the Hobart Public Cemetery Trust was read dated 21st Dec. 1943 asking for the
purchase of those graves on the public part of our Cemetery that have recently been
curbed, or to remove curbings. Message H. Jacobs read his draft of a reply in which he
explained the financial position of our congregation. Mr H. Jacob moves to offer the Trust
the sum of £10 p. a. as settlement of the A/c. Should this not accepted to remove the
curbing. Mr S Pollack seconded.
Carried.

Harrington-st paddock
4) Rev J. Ansbacher was instructed to investigate into the particulars of the Harrington-st
paddock, leased to Mr J Alcock.

Fitzpatrick
5) Rev J. Ansbacher what is structured to investigate into particulars of the Fitzpatrick
estate.

Income Elizabeth Fall’s Estate
6) A letter was read by Ritchie & Parker Alfred Green & Co. dated on the 27th Jan 44.
Mr S Pollak moved that prior to bringing the matter before the Council we should offer the
following proposal to the Elizabeth Trustees in Launceston: We asked them to invest the
accrued interest £259:10:2 in income producing War Bonds and in future submit to us this
income in addition to that of the capital of £500.
Seconded by Mr. E. Frank. Carried.

This proposal to be made personally by the Rev J. Ansbacher during his prospective visit to
Launceston.

Financial Statement
7) Mr H Jacob submitted a financial statement. He stated that to date pledges for
contributions amounted to ca£220 The approximate income of the Synagogue amounts to
ca£150. A yearly budget of the Synagogue will be appr £400.

Mr V. Coronel moved close of meeting. Seconded by Mr S Pollock. Carried
